Where do sessions take place?
In person in the Southwest Ranches / Pembroke Pines area, or live online anywhere in Florida. Online sessions use Google Meet with a shared digital whiteboard — students see every step worked out, just like in person.
What subjects and grades do you tutor?
Middle school math for grades 6–8 — including pre-algebra and readiness for Algebra 1 — plus Algebra 1 (Regular and Honors), Geometry, and Algebra 2 support. Every enrolled student starts with the Skills Check for their level: Middle School Math, Algebra 1, or Geometry. If your student’s course isn’t listed, ask — I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit.
How do the private plans work?
Private tutoring is sold in 4-week blocks, scheduled up front at fixed weekly times. The Steady Plan is one session a week (4 sessions, $280 per block) — a good fit for students who are keeping up. The Progress Plan is two sessions a week (8 sessions, $500 per block — a $60 savings, locked in while you renew block to block) and is what I recommend for students who are behind, in remedial classes, or preparing for an EOC. After your student’s Skills Check, I’ll tell you honestly which one your student needs.
How does the Homework Help Club work?
The Club meets live online two evenings a week for 75 minutes, capped at 8 members. Students bring their own homework — middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 in one room — and I circulate to unstick each student, teaching a topic once to the group when several students are stuck on the same thing. Membership is $179/month; founding members (the first 6 families) pay $149/month. It’s tutoring support and accountability — students still do their own work.
Do you offer small-group pods?
Pods of up to 3 students in the same course and level ($40 per student / hour) form from a waitlist as matching students enroll, rather than on a fixed schedule. If a pod is what you’re looking for, mention it at your consultation and I’ll match your student as soon as a spot forms.
How does payment work?
Everything is prepaid by Zelle — private plans before each 4-week block begins, and the Homework Help Club monthly. Your student’s times aren’t held until the block is paid, which is what keeps the schedule fair for every family.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
Each 4-week block includes one free reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice. After that, late cancellations and no-shows count as a session used, and unused sessions expire at the end of the block. And it’s fair both ways: if I ever have to cancel, that session is always made up or credited — no exceptions.
Will you follow my student’s school curriculum?
Yes. Sessions track what your student is learning in class right now, while we quietly rebuild any weak basics underneath it. The goal is that school itself starts feeling easier.
Can anyone download the Skills Check from this website?
No. The Middle School Math, Algebra 1, and Geometry Skills Checks are for enrolled students only — they are never posted as public downloads. After you sign up for sessions, Mrs. Cabello sends your student a private link to the student-only version for their level (no answer key or teacher pages included). If you’re enrolled and can’t find your link, just ask and it will be re-sent.
Is there a diagnostic for middle school students?
Yes — the Middle School Math Skills Check is built for grades 6–8 and pre-algebra students. It checks fraction and decimal fluency, ratios and percents, integers, expressions and equations, and basic geometry, and it shows whether your student is ready for Algebra 1. Like the other Skills Checks, it’s for enrolled students only: after you sign up, your student receives it by private link, and the graded feedback includes strand-by-strand scores, a fix-first list, and my Steady vs. Progress Plan recommendation.
How do we return a completed Skills Check, and what feedback do we get?
Your student completes the check on paper, showing their work, and you return clear photos or a scan using the private submission link provided at enrollment. Each submitted check is reviewed and graded, and families receive strand-by-strand scores, a “fix first” list of the gaps to repair first, and a parent summary with my recommendation between the Steady Plan (once a week) and the Progress Plan (twice a week).
Do you offer a trial?
Every family starts with a free consultation. Once you’ve signed up for sessions, your student’s first step is the Skills Check — sent by private link — so the plan we build together is based on their actual gaps, not a guess.
